Potential VAT raise to 18% in 2025
Israel's Ministry of Finance is proposing to increase the VAT by 1% from 17% to 18% in 2025.
The increase will help finance the state's coffers following massive military expenditures since October 2023. There is an expectation that this VAT increase will add approximately NIS 7.2 billion to the state's revenue. However, the Minister of Finance has stated that this proposal is likely to be withdrawn if the economic situation in the country improves.
