Prime Ministers of Singapore and New Zealand sign eInvoicing Memorandum of Agreement

A Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) on eInvoicing was signed by New Zealand's Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Singapore's Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong on April 15, 2024. The MoA makes a commitment from both countries to collaborate on initiatives promoting the adoption of eInvoicing by businesses. Specifically, they aim to establish infrastructure supporting eInvoicing and raise awareness and capacity for its implementation.

The agreement establishes a close working relationship between Singapore's Info-communications Media Development Authority (IMDA) and New Zealand's Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE). Regular meetings with counterparts from Australia, Japan, Malaysia, and Singapore are held to exchange information, discuss mutual interests, and consider initiatives promoting eInvoicing adoption in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region.
